Martyrdom of Fatima al-Zahra (as)

After the Prophet's death, a group of up to 4000 men, led by Umar ibn Khattab, demanded Ali ibn Abi-Talib's allegiance to Abu Bakr at Fatima tuz Zahra's door. Ali, preparing the Qur'an, refused. They threatened to burn the house, set fire to the door, kicked it in, injuring Fatima—breaking her rib and causing miscarriage of Al-Muhassin. On her deathbed, Fatima requested a secret night burial attended by few loyal companions like Ali, al-Hassan, al-Husayn, Ammar bin Yasir, and Salman al-Muhammadi. Her grave's location remains unknown. Ali, who lifted Khaybar's gates effortlessly, wept unable to lift her body.

Birth of Imam al-Askari (as)

Imam Hasan al-Askari, the Eleventh Imam, was born in 232 Hijri in Madina and died in 260 Hijri in Samarra at age 28, after a 6-year Imamate under house arrest. Titled Askari for living in a garrison town, he taught Quran, wrote a Tafseer, and performed miracles like exposing a priest's rain trick and praying for rain. He married Nargis Khatoon, a Rum princess who converted via dreams, mother to his son Muhammad. Despite sufferings, he educated students and converted atheists. Poisoned by Caliph al-Mu’tamid, his 5-year-old son led his funeral prayer before disappearing. Buried with his father in Samarra.
