Battle of the Camel

The Battle of Basra, or Battle of the Camel, marked the Second Civil War in Islam after Uthman's assassination and Ali's accession as caliph. Martyrdom of Fatimah al-Zahra (as)

After the Prophet's death, a group of up to 4000 men, led by Umar ibn Khattab, demanded Ali ibn Abi-Talib's allegiance to Abu Bakr at Fatima tuz Zahra's door. Ali, preparing the Qur'an, refused. They threatened to burn the house, set fire to the door, kicked it in, injuring Fatima—breaking her rib and causing miscarriage of Al-Muhassin.
